Lymphatic Drainage

Many people often ask: how can I eliminate excess fluid from the body during weight loss? Or how can I reduce swelling during the hot summer months?

To reduce fluid retention, a comprehensive approach is needed:

1. Consultation with a doctor

It is important to start by consulting a medical professional. A cosmetologist with a basic background in general medicine (beyond dermatocosmetology) can perform the necessary tests and analysis to select the optimal program for you.

2. Coordination with salon treatments

On the days you take diuretics (recommended 2 times per week), combine them with pressotherapy or body wraps using seaweed. This significantly enhances fluid elimination.

3. Lymphomyosot (homeopathic drops, Germany)

Take 25 drops twice a day—on an empty stomach and at night with 1 glass of water. Duration: 2 bottles.

This helps drain tissue fluid. Diuretics primarily remove fluid from the circulatory system, while Lymphomyosot helps target interstitial fluids.

4. Seaweed Body Wraps

An ancient and effective spa treatment used since ancient Greek times. Suitable for both men and women, seaweed has an osmotic effect and regulates metabolic processes in the skin and entire body.

Frequency: once a week.

Seaweed wraps are essential for maintaining water-electrolyte balance and skin elasticity, especially during fluid loss, to avoid sagging skin.

Laminaria Digitata (leafy brown algae) is recognized by top cosmetologists as one of the most effective means for:

  • Body detox
  • Reducing swelling
  • Mineralization
  • Weight loss
  • Fighting cellulite
  • Reducing stretch marks
  • Deep skin hydration
  • Skin tightening
  • Skin health improvement

Once soaked in water, dry laminaria reactivates its bioactive compounds and releases agar-agar, forming a gel-like substance that enhances skin absorption. The softened algae remain elastic and flexible, allowing easy application.

Wrap procedure (1-1.5 hours):

  • Scrub-peeling to cleanse and prepare the skin for absorption.
  • Body wrap — three types:
    • Hot: Body is wrapped in algae and then in a thermal blanket at 39-41°C for 15-30 minutes to enhance detox through sweating and improved blood flow.
    • Cold: For those with contraindications to heat.
    • Compression: Algae is wrapped in a spiral motion and covered with elastic bandages soaked in algae solution. Strongly stimulates lymphatic drainage.

Contraindications vary depending on the type of wrap and include cardiovascular issues, varicose veins (stage 2-3), hormone imbalances, pregnancy, etc. Your cosmetologist should assess your condition and choose the appropriate protocol.

5. Detralex (Venotonic)

Take 1 tablet twice a day (2 packs total). Strengthens venous walls, prevents varicose veins, improves blood thinning and microcirculation.

6. Mildronate (Meldonium)

A vascular cleanser that improves cerebral circulation and prevents heart attacks. It restores the oxygen balance at the cellular level and supports energy recovery.

Dosage: 1 tablet twice a day (1 pack) or, preferably, via IV drip.

IV therapy not only detoxifies the blood but also hydrates the body, aiding diuretics in fluid elimination.

Course: 10 IV sessions, 1-2 times per week, as prescribed by a doctor. Can be combined with pressotherapy and wraps for enhanced drainage.

7. Panangin (Potassium + Magnesium)

Take 1 tablet twice a day. Replenishes electrolytes lost through diuretics, even potassium-sparing ones. Prevents cramps and supports heart muscle function.

8. Ascorutin (Vitamin C + Rutin)

Take 1 tablet three times a day. Supports oxidative processes and capillary strength.

Course: at least 2 months.

9. Water Massage (Hydromassage)

Use a strong, thin stream of water. After a warm shower, direct the stream from the ankles to the upper thighs in an upward motion. Alternate between cold and moderately hot water (3-7 cycles). End with warm water.

Afterward, apply Troxevasin gel from feet to groin and lie down with legs elevated 20-30 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

Frequency: 2-3 times per week.

10. Diuretics (Verospiron)

Take 1 tablet in the morning every other day for 14 days. A mild, potassium-sparing diuretic with cumulative effect starting after 1 week.

If taken with other supplements, use as directed. If used alone, 1 tablet twice per week.

Important: Do not reduce water intake. If you drink too little, the body will retain fluid.

Ideal water intake: 35 ml/kg of body weight.

It is recommended to begin the full protocol as outlined.

Salon Treatments — 2 times per week

Pressotherapy (Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Pneumatic Massage)

A painless, non-invasive treatment that eliminates lymphatic stagnation in various zones. It works by inflating sequential air chambers inside specialized cuffs worn on the arms, legs, or waist. The rhythm and intensity of pressure determine whether the procedure performs a lymphatic drainage or pressomassage.

Effects include:

  • Detoxification
  • Reduced swelling
  • Improved skin nutrition and hydration
  • Enhanced blood circulation
  • Reduction in cellulite and body volume
  • Skin firming and rejuvenation

Medical uses:

  • Spasm relief
  • Venous support and varicose vein prevention
  • Muscle tension relief
  • Post-injury and post-operative swelling reduction
  • Rehabilitation after liposuction

How it works: Air is pumped into cuffs via a compressor. These cuffs rhythmically compress the tissue, enhancing circulation and facilitating lymphatic drainage. Waste products and stagnant fluids are expelled from the intercellular space.
